Cyclone Disaster Relief
Cyclone Fani made landfall in eastern India, bringing with it 125 mph winds and torrential rain, particularly impacting Odisha state. Despite a massive evacuation effort, which saw over 1.2 million people relocated to safer areas, the storm tragically claimed at least two lives. As Cyclone Fani weakened, it shifted toward the large city of Kolkata, but the damage was already done.
In Odisha, our orphanage – founded by Mr. Ashid Bahl after he witnessed the heartbreaking sight of homeless children huddling around a smouldering log to stay warm – has been heavily affected. The orphanage, which provides shelter, food, and care to homeless children, is now also providing refuge to families and other children who lost their homes in the devastating storm.
The orphanage is in urgent need of food, clothing, and medicine to support both the orphaned children and the newly displaced individuals. With your help, we can continue to provide safety and care for those in dire need during this challenging time.
